Charles Knapp has been a professional stained glass artist since l974. Born in Toronto, his family later moved to the United States where he was raised. After graduating from university in Michigan, where he majored in Biology, Charles returned to Canada. When deciding where to live, “Go west young man” sprang to mind, so he moved to Vancouver. A school friend came to visit him there and made a clear glass leaded planter as a Christmas present. In the spring, when it was no longer raining every day on his deck, Charles set up a work bench and decided to try to make one too. He was immediately hooked. Glass and the process of construction was challenging and satisfying.
